Preschool and Kindergarten Education

St. Colette School takes great pride in its emphasis on early childhood education. Recognizing that children begin learning from birth, our early childhood program provides an academic foundation for lifelong learning.  The early childhood curriculum is coordinated with the elementary curriculum of St. Colette School to provide the essential learning skills for success in elementary school.

The Early Childhood Program has four key features:

  • Our early academics program nurtures the inquisitive nature of young children, helping them build basic academic skills.

  • Faith based education provides a strong foundation in Christian values.

  • Creativity and artistry, critical elements in early childhood education, are introduced through art and music.

  • Social interactions and teamwork skills are developed through work and play.

In the last few years there has been a burst of research in cognition and learning, child development, and the social and cultural context of learning.
One clear outcome of this research is the exceptional enthusiasm and competence for learning shown by young children.
